It's Cold Outside!

(Polyvore)
The daily countdown to spring has commenced. I can wait for that first warm, sunny… not a cloud in the sky day. But for now we are stuck with snow, gloom and skin chapping wind and freezing temperatures. Remember layers are key to getting blissfully bundled and warding off that winter chill. Layers don’t have to mean bulk! The secret to looking chic while feeling cozy is choosing shapely silhouettes with a defined waist so your shape shows even though it’s layered up. Start with a thin layer base … for cooler climates, a long sleeved top in cashmere or lightweight wool will trap your body heat and keep you warm. Add a thin sweater or two, and finish with a fabulous coat. For extremely cold conditions, pile on your heavy wool or puffer coat overtop, and you’re ready for a walk in the park! The beauty of layers is you can peel them off as needed when you get to the office or just head inside to sip hot cocoa by the fire! Don’t forget your winter accessories (fabulous accessories are essential for any outfit)! Pair your winter ensembles with cozy chic accessories like cashmere socks, gloves, scarves, and hats, which will keep key points of circulation warm by keeping your body heat close. Add whimsical winter wonderland flair with faux fur accents and boots! There are tons of functional and fashionable winter boots out there, so find your perfect pair and you’ll be well on your way to being a bundled up beauty…. I’m currently obsessed with wedge boots (for the snowy days). They’re much easier to get around in then the skinny heel.
